Journalist with 16 years of experience as a reporter, press officer and strategic communications consultant and a degree from Universidade de Brasilia and Université de Rennes I (France).
Flavia has a broad experience assisting corporate and industrial associations, especially in the energy and infrastructure sectors, as well as the government and international organizations, with a focus on development and human rights.
She began her career as an intern at Radio France Internationale (RFI) in Paris and worked as a reporter at Rádio Nacional da Amazônia and Jornal de Brasília. She worked for 5 years with the United Nations (UN), 4 of them as a member of the Unicef team in Brazil and, for one year, she worked at UNDP in Guinea Bissau, coordinating the communications work of the United Nations System, through the UN Volunteer Program (UNV). During the year she lived in Bissau, she was involved in the local elections, she took part in humanitarian emergency assistances and she promoted several communication campaigns for the Millennium Development Goals, for the rights of refugees, and for the fight against HIV/AIDS, Malaria, among others.
In Brazil, she joined, for 5 years, an internationally awarded team in a pioneering project to promote Brazil abroad for the Presidency’s Social Communications Secretariat (Secom, for the acronym in Portuguese). The work was carried out by two of the largest agencies in the sector, CDN Comunicação Corporativa, in Brazil, in partnership with the international agency Fleishman HIllard and its subsidiaries in Portugal and Spain, with an emphasis on the development of strategies for monitoring communication results. During this period, she organized and made several trips to support news coverage teams, foreign correspondents and opinion leaders while they were in Brazil to report or promote public policies and social and educational projects of excellence of the Brazilian government. She was part of the communication teams for major events such as Rio +20, COP 15 and the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. Also, she was at the forefront of the international dissemination of the Mais Médicos program in Portugal and Spain, before the recruitment of Cuban doctors. Since 2015, she has been part of the Federal Prosecution Office project called “Memórias”, which documents the institution’s history through in- depth interviews with its members, including most of the Prosecutors General of the Republic since the 1980s.

Besides, she produced numerous institutional and thematic reports and publications on the Rights of Children and Adolescents and education policies and was editor of the magazine Varejo S.A., of the National Confederation of Shopkeepers.
She is also a children’s book writer and studies Child and Youth Literature, having even taken courses of the Master’s degree program at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona on the subject. She is the author of the books “O Casamento da Girafa com o Leão” (“The Wedding of the Giraffe with the Lion”), of the booklet on prevention for children “Coronavírus: vamos vencer” (“Coronavirus: let’s win”), of the Ministry of Health, and of “As Cores de Tó” (“The colors of Tó”), a book that received the IV UFES Literature Award in 2020.
