Mariana Areias

Mariana Areias’ profile proved to be strategic for TORRE mainly because of two fundamental factors required to provide complex services: the diversity and complementarity of her knowledge in Communication and her keen eye for corporate matters, thanks to the positions and functions she held in her career.

Her experience as a reporter corresponded to her initial educational experience: she attended the Escola Superior de Comunicação Social (ESCS), in Lisbon/PT, to later complete her degree in journalism at Centro Universitário de Brasília (UniCeub). After graduation, she worked for TV Acre (Rede Amazônica – Rede Globo affiliate), Correio Braziliense and Rádio CBN Brasília.

She won the Investor Education Award, by the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission, in 2016, on behalf of Correio Braziliense; and then the Engenho de Comunicação award as “Best Radio Program”, on behalf of Rádio CBN Brasília.

If her journalistic experiences gave her the ability to read the social, political and institutional scenario, other courses offered her new skills. Mariana completed her postgraduate degree in Marketing and Social Media at Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV) and specialized in Creative Writing, Consulting in the Digital Environment and Crisis Management at Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing (ESPM). After that, she refined her versatility in advisory and consultancy roles. She is currently doing an MBA in Public Policy and Institutional Relations at Ibmec.

She worked as public relations at Confederação Nacional da Indústria (CNI), more specifically in the production of content and the relationship between the entity and the National Congress, through digital strategies. She also served as press advisor for the operator TIM through the company Weber Shandwick, in addition to representing the operator in covering meetings of the Anatel Board of Directors.

She worked in the communication structures of the Ministry of Defense and Companhia de Desenvolvimento dos Vales do São Francisco and Parnaíba (Codevasf), where she participated in communication strategies and relations with the press.

After her experiences in state communication, she gained corporate and business abilities by joining the Branded Content team at the Metrópoles portal. And with all this background and skills, she was invited to join the TORRE team.
